Print Your First Labels
This quick start walks you through the fastest path to your first printed label sheet: verify a template, create a print job, and print at Actual size.
Before you begin
Section titled “Before you begin”- Install Qivra PO Label Printer from the Shopify App Store and open it from your Shopify admin.
- Have your label paper at hand (e.g. an Avery 5160 sheet, or your thermal roll). For the very first test, a few sheets of plain paper are enough.
- Your store should have at least one received transfer, or products with SKUs/barcodes.
Step 1: Check your template
Section titled “Step 1: Check your template”Starter templates are installed automatically the first time you open the app.
- Go to Label templates.
- Confirm you see the three starter templates: Retail price (Avery 5160), Warehouse SKU (Avery 5167), and Shipping 4×6 (Zebra 4×6).
- Pick the one that matches your paper. To make it the default for new jobs, open it with Edit, tick Default template, and save.
See Create a label template if you want to customize slots, barcode format, or sizes first.
Step 2: Print a calibration sheet (recommended)
Section titled “Step 2: Print a calibration sheet (recommended)”Skip this if you print on rolls. On sheet paper (Avery and compatibles), verify alignment before using a real label sheet:
- On the Home page, find the Sheet alignment card.
- Click Check next to your paper size.
- The calibration PDF opens in a new tab — print it on plain paper at Actual size.
- Hold it over a label sheet: the numbered grid should line up with the die-cut cells.
Calibration prints are free and never count toward your monthly quota. See Calibration and sheet alignment.
Step 3: Create a print job
Section titled “Step 3: Create a print job”- Go to New print job.
- At the top, the Template selector shows your default template (with live preview). Change it if needed.
- Under Where do the labels come from?, pick a source:
| Source | Best for |
|---|---|
| Received transfer | Printing labels for stock that just arrived — counts accepted quantities |
| Product filter | Reprinting a range of products (search, vendor, type, tag) |
| CSV import | Supplier files, Shopify PO exports, Stocky exports |
| Order | Printing a label for every unit in an order |
- Follow the source’s picker, then click the create button (e.g. Create job (accepted qty) for transfers).
For the full transfer workflow — including re-receiving and printing only the difference — see Print from a received transfer.
Step 4: Print
Section titled “Step 4: Print”The app opens the job detail page.
- Review the labels in the Labels in this job table (Accepted / Printed / To print per product).
- Click Print {count} labels. The status shows Rendering…, then the PDF opens in a new tab.
- In the browser print dialog, choose Actual size (100% scale) — not “Fit to page”, or labels will misalign.
- Print on your label paper and peel.
What happens next
Section titled “What happens next”- The job appears in Print history with status Printed. You can reprint or re-download its PDF for 30 days.
- For transfers: when the same transfer receives more stock, the job updates automatically and, by default, only prints the difference. The Home banner “Stock arrived — labels are ready” surfaces pending labels.
- Jobs and rendered files are kept for 30 days. After that, the job stays in history and Reprint rebuilds the PDF from the saved template snapshot.
