Set Up Slack Notifications
Connect Qivra PreOrder with Slack to prepare your workspace for pre-order activity notifications.
Prerequisites
Section titled “Prerequisites”- A Slack workspace with permission to create incoming webhooks
Creating a Slack Webhook
Section titled “Creating a Slack Webhook”Step 1: Create a Slack App
Section titled “Step 1: Create a Slack App”- Go to Slack API
- Click Create New App > From scratch
- Name your app (e.g., “Qivra PreOrder”)
- Select your workspace
Step 2: Enable Incoming Webhooks
Section titled “Step 2: Enable Incoming Webhooks”- In your app settings, go to Incoming Webhooks
- Toggle Activate Incoming Webhooks to On
- Click Add New Webhook to Workspace
- Select the channel where you want notifications
- Copy the webhook URL (it starts with
https://hooks.slack.com/)
Setting Up the Integration
Section titled “Setting Up the Integration”Step 1: Open Settings
Section titled “Step 1: Open Settings”- Open Qivra PreOrder from your Shopify admin
- Open the Settings page (if Settings isn’t listed in the app’s sidebar menu, open
/settingsdirectly inside the app) - Go to Third party integration
Step 2: Select Slack
Section titled “Step 2: Select Slack”Click on the Slack card from the provider list.
Step 3: Enter the Webhook URL
Section titled “Step 3: Enter the Webhook URL”Paste the Slack webhook URL into the Webhook URL field.
Step 4: Test and Save
Section titled “Step 4: Test and Save”- Click Test And Save
- Qivra sends a test message through the webhook
- Check that the test message appears in your Slack channel
- On success, the provider card shows as Configured
Use the Test And Save button at any time to verify the connection is still working.
Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting”Test Message Not Arriving
Section titled “Test Message Not Arriving”- Verify the webhook URL starts with
https://hooks.slack.com/and is complete - Check that the webhook is still active in your Slack app settings (reinstalling the Slack app can invalidate old webhooks)
- Confirm the channel selected when creating the webhook still exists
Notifications Stop After Some Time
Section titled “Notifications Stop After Some Time”Slack webhooks can be deactivated if the Slack app is removed or the channel is deleted. Create a new webhook and update it in the app.
