Translate Chart Content
Qivra Size Chart translates the content shoppers read — not just buttons and headings. Chart names, section titles, column labels, size labels, and the how-to-measure guide can all be translated into every language your shop sells in.
Translations follow Shopify Markets
Section titled “Translations follow Shopify Markets”The languages available here are the languages enabled in Shopify Markets — not the shopper’s browser language. A shopper browsing your French market sees French chart content; the same chart shows English to your primary market.
The translation matrix
Section titled “The translation matrix”The Translations page shows a grid: one row per language, one column per chart. Each cell’s badge shows its state:
| Badge | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Not translated | No translations yet for that chart/language |
| Partial (x/y) | Some fields translated |
| Translated (x/y) | All fields translated |
Click any cell to open the editor for that chart and language.
What gets translated
Section titled “What gets translated”| Field | Example |
|---|---|
| Chart name | ”Women’s tops” → “Hauts femme” |
| Section title (per block) | “Measurements” → “Mensurations” |
| Column label | ”Bust” → “Poitrine” |
| Size label (per row) | Custom labels per system |
| How-to-measure guide (HTML) | Your measurement instructions |
The original text sits on the left (read-only); your translation goes on the right. Leave a field empty to use the original text — fallback works per field, so a half-translated chart shows translated labels with original text wherever you stopped.
Translate with AI
Section titled “Translate with AI”Click Translate with AI to fill every empty field for that language:
- Existing translations are never overwritten — AI fills gaps only.
- If you have unsaved edits, you’ll be asked to confirm (translating discards them and fills empty fields).
- A toast reports how many fields were translated — then edit anything the AI got wrong by hand.
Steps: translate a chart
Section titled “Steps: translate a chart”- Go to Translations.
- Find the language row and your chart’s column; click the cell.
- Fill translations manually, or use Translate with AI first and refine.
- Save — translations sync to your storefront automatically for that language’s market.
- Start with your biggest market’s language, then iterate.
- Translate column labels carefully — “Bust”, “Waist”, “Hip” have established terms in each language; AI is a draft, not a tailor.
- Size labels rarely need translation (S/M/L and numeric sizes are universal) — but custom labels like “Petite” may.
- The languages list updates automatically when you add or remove a language in Shopify Markets.
