Create Your First Size Chart

This guide shows you how to create your first size chart — from a blank editor to a chart that’s ready to assign to products. The full reference for every editor option is in the Chart editor guide.

  1. In the app, go to Charts.
  2. Click Create chart.

The chart editor opens with the settings on the left and a live preview on the right.

Step 2: Name the chart and choose what the numbers measure

Section titled “Step 2: Name the chart and choose what the numbers measure”
  1. Enter a Chart name — e.g. “Women’s tops”. Shoppers see this as the popup title.
  2. Under What do these numbers measure?, choose one:
    • Body measurements — the shopper’s own body, measured with a tape.
    • Garment measurements — the item itself, laid flat.

Under Measurements, pick the Unit system you entered:

  • Metric — cm, kg
  • Imperial (US) — in, lb

If you already typed numbers and then switch, the app asks whether to Convert the numbers or Keep numbers (only the input label changes).

Pick a preset under Size systems shown:

  • Alpha + US + UK + EU + JP — one row label per system, shoppers switch between them.
  • Alpha only — just XS–XL.
  • US + EU — numeric systems only.

Each size row then has a label field per system. You only need to fill the systems you sell with.

The grid has a Size column plus your measurement columns (e.g. Bust, Waist, Hip).

  1. Click Add column for each measurement, type its name, and set its Unit (cm, in, mm, ft, kg, lb — or No units for text like “Fits 170–176 cm”).
  2. Click Add row for each size and type the values.
  3. Tip: you can paste a whole table from a spreadsheet — copy the range, click the first cell in the grid, and paste. The app maps rows and columns automatically.

Mark the columns the recommender should use under Size recommendations use — only columns with a measurable unit (cm, in, kg…) can be scored.

The right side shows a live preview of the chart — toggle Desktop / Mobile to check both. The mobile preview shows how the sticky size column behaves while the table scrolls sideways.

  1. Click Save. New charts start as Draft — they don’t appear on your store until assigned.
  2. Follow Assign charts to products to connect the chart to a collection or tag.
