Print Labels from a Received Transfer
This is the core workflow of the app: stock arrives via a Shopify transfer, and you print one barcode label for every unit you actually accepted. If you ordered 100 and accepted 95, you get 95 labels — not 100 guessed by hand.
How quantities are counted
Section titled “How quantities are counted”When you create a job from a transfer, the app reads every shipment of that transfer and sums the accepted quantity per variant:
- Accepted units → one label each
- Rejected units → excluded, never printed
- Not yet received → excluded; labels are added when the stock actually arrives
If you use Shopify purchase orders: receiving a PO creates a transfer, which appears here the same way.
Step 1: Open New print job and pick your template
Section titled “Step 1: Open New print job and pick your template”- Go to New print job.
- The Template selector shows your default template with a live preview — change it if this job needs a different one.
Step 2: Select transfers
Section titled “Step 2: Select transfers”The Transfer card (selected by default) lists received transfers:
- Use Search transfers (by name or reference) and the Period filter (Last 30 days / 90 days / All) to narrow the list.
- Tick one or more transfers. Each row shows the route (origin → destination), status (Transferred or In progress), and the Received unit count.
- Rows showing 0 received can’t be selected yet — receive at least part of the transfer first.
- Click Continue with {count} transfer(s).
- One transfer → the app opens the job detail page.
- Several transfers → one job per transfer is created and you land in Print history.
Step 3: Review and print
Section titled “Step 3: Review and print”On the job detail page:
- The Labels in this job table shows each product with its Accepted / Printed / To print counts — you can verify the math yourself.
- Check the Barcode column: values show their resolved format, a Checksum failed badge means the value is invalid and will be printed as SKU text (fix it on the variant in Shopify), and missing means the variant has no barcode (the SKU prints as text instead).
- Click Print {count} labels. The PDF renders and opens in a new tab.
- In the print dialog, choose Actual size (100%) — not “Fit to page”.
For partially used label sheets, see Print on a partially used sheet. For Zebra thermal workflows, see Download ZPL for Zebra printers.
Receiving more stock: print only the difference
Section titled “Receiving more stock: print only the difference”Transfers are often received in several batches. The app keeps one job per transfer and tracks what you already printed:
- When new stock is received, the job updates automatically (via webhooks) with the new accepted quantities.
- Opening the job shows the banner “You already printed {count} of these labels” with two options:
- Print the remaining {count} (default) — only the labels for newly accepted units.
- Re-print everything (ignore already printed) — full quantity again, for when you want to re-label everything.
Nothing is duplicated and nothing needs to be deleted between receiving batches.
The “Stock arrived” banner on Home
Section titled “The “Stock arrived” banner on Home”When received stock has labels ready, the Home page shows “Stock arrived — labels are ready” listing each pending transfer with its label count and a Print button — you can go straight from receiving to printing without hunting through history. Rows disappear once everything is printed.
- Cancel a wrong print: while a job is Rendering, you can click Cancel printing in history or on the job. Labels already rendered still count toward your quota; press Print to start again.
- Large deliveries: the PDF splits automatically at 2,000 labels per file — each file opens/downloads separately.
- Staff permissions: viewing transfer lines requires staff permission to view products in Shopify. A staff member without it sees an error on the transfer detail.
