Shopify B2B Companies

This guide explains how Qivra B2B Wholesale fits with Shopify’s native B2B companies and locations, and what happens (and doesn’t happen) when you approve a registration.

Shopify B2B uses companies and company locations to represent B2B buyers. Each company can have multiple locations, payment terms, and catalogs.

Qivra B2B Wholesale integrates with this model in two ways:

  1. Targeting — price lists can target customers via customer tags, logged-in state, or specific customer selection. Tagged customers qualify for wholesale pricing without needing a Shopify company.
  2. Quotes & orders — quotes you send are converted into Shopify draft orders for the buyer; if you use Shopify companies, those orders roll up under the company like any other order.

When you approve a submission:

  1. Logged-in customer — the wholesale tags you chose are added to their existing Shopify customer record.
  2. Guest submission — a new Shopify customer is created with those tags, and the buyer receives an account invite email.

The moment the tags match a price list’s customer selection, the customer sees B2B prices on your storefront and at checkout. No other setup is required.

Approving a submission does not create a Shopify B2B company or location. Qivra’s tags-and-price-lists model works standalone — you only need Shopify companies if you want their specific features.

Create (or open) the company in Shopify admin → Companies when you need:

  • Payment terms (net 30/60) and credit limits.
  • Per-company catalogs and price lists managed natively by Shopify.
  • Multiple locations with different shipping addresses per buyer.
  • Tax exemptions applied per location.

The manual steps, if you go this route:

  1. In Shopify admin → Companies, create the company and its location for the approved customer.
  2. Assign the customer to the company/location in Shopify.
  3. Keep the wholesale tag on the customer so your Qivra price lists keep applying.
Section titled “Recommended flow: signup → approved wholesale buyer”
  1. Customer submits the registration form on your storefront.
  2. You approve the submission in the Submissions tab with the tag your price list targets (e.g. wholesale).
  3. The customer immediately qualifies for B2B pricing — done.
  4. Optional: negotiate deal terms via a quote and convert it to a draft order with an invoice.
  5. Optional: if you need payment terms or locations, create the Shopify company as described above.

The simplest bridge between approvals and B2B pricing is a customer tag:

  • Configure your price list’s Customer selection to By customer tags → wholesale.
  • Approve submissions with the wholesale tag (the default).
  • Approved customers qualify instantly — no company setup needed.

Automate around approvals with Shopify Flow triggers.
